    Jennifer Toral-Orduno is a rising third year medical student at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Heersink School of Medicine, where she is currently pursuing a Master of Public Health. She is from Helena, Alabama and received her Bachelor of Science from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in Biomedical Sciences with a concentration in Health Professions as part of the Honors College. As a Mexican American first generation student, her journey is grounded in a deep commitment to advancing health equity and improving care for underserved communities. She is also engaged in research spanning medical education, skin of color representation, inflammatory skin disorders and neurofibromatosis type 1. Driven by her lived experiences and passion for advocacy, she is dedicated to empowering communities through dermatologic education and inclusive representation in medicine. She additionally enjoys exploring Birmingham restaurants with friends, traveling with family and learning new recipes from different cultures.
